If you’re anything like us, you’re probably itching to get out and find some new swimming spots. And lucky for you, we’re here to share some of the swimming holes the central coast and surrounding areas have to offer. We’ve compromised a quick list for you to explore.
Trust us. You want to visit all of these locations on a weekday because you’re almost guaranteed to have the place to yourself.

Emerald Pools
It’s a bit of a hike to get there, but completely worth it. The Emerald Pools are known for the bright green water tranquil water which falls from water falls into a natural water hole. The pool is chilly, very chilly actually but very refreshing on a warm day. And the location is the perfect spot for a picnic.

Catherine Hill Bay
Catherine Hill Bay is an incredible place to go swimming. If you’re willing to do some exploring along the rock shelves we can guarantee that you’ll find some deep rock pools which are perfect for swimming and cooling off.
Kariong Brook Falls
A bit more of a popular spot and a bit of a hike is Kariong Brook Falls. This waterfall is seemly in the middle of knowing where and is a hiker’s delight along the Great North Walk. Whilst the water may not be the prettiest around, we don’t think you can beat cooling off under a waterfall on a summer day. There are plenty of spots to sit and spend a few hours down there. So make sure you pack your lunch and enjoy your day down at the waterfalls!

Munmorah Conservation Area
Munmorah Conservation area has countless great swimming spots. From Ghosties Beach (pictured) to Frazer Beach and even Birdie Beach you’ll be in for a treat regardless of which beach you choose. There are many rockpools if you’re willing to do some exploring as well. Otherwise, you can swim at the secluded beaches which are arguably some of the best on the Central Coast.
