The Central Coast is an amazing place to explore, and we are so lucky to live here! Over the last few months, we have been sharing some of our favourite hikes in the area, and we are now sharing some of our favourite waterfalls on the Central Coast too! Chasing waterfalls is one of the best things to do in Central Coast NSW and is a great active way to spend your days with the family.

The pristine bushland here on the Central Coast is perfect for exploring and one of the more popular hiking activities is checking out all the waterfalls the Central Coast has to offer! We’ve made this list to make that easier! Below are some of the best Central Coast waterfalls, including a secret waterfall on the Central Coast that you may not have heard of. This is one of the best secret spots Central Coast has to offer, so you won’t want to miss it. We’ll also include some swimming holes for you to cool off in the summer!

Somersby Falls

Somersby Falls is the most popular waterfall on the Central Coast. People travel from Sydney and Newcastle often purely to visit these falls. The three-tier waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls and for good reason. Somersby Falls also includes a waterfall walk on the Central Coast. The 600m track is a family-friendly hike on the Central Coast which features a steep track down to the bottom of the waterfalls. This track is a lot of fun for the whole family and is a must-see waterfall on the Central Coast NSW.

Kariong Brook Falls

Previously one of the best-hidden gems Central Coast has, Kariong Brook Falls has become one the best swimming holes on the Central Coast. Located in the Brisbane Water National Park, this waterfall is surrounded by rugged bushland and features a beautiful waterfall that cascades into a pool. This pool is the perfect spot for wild swimming on the Central Coast NSW.

This is one of the more unique things to do on the Central Coast. Wild swimming is a popular pastime, however, swimming under waterfalls is truly special. This is one of the best waterfalls Central Coast has to offer because of this experience.

Woy Woy Pool Waterfall

One of the most IG-worthy waterfalls on the Central Coast cascades into a man-made trough! This secret waterfall on the Central Coast went viral in 2021 and for good reason! The 3km trek is well worth it once you make it to the infinity pool. Surrounded by rugged bush the infinity pool looks out into kms of untouched bushland. Since going viral, the location has received an increase in popularity, although on weekdays you still could be the only one visiting.

This secret Woy Woy waterfall may not be a secret anymore. However, it is still worth chasing.

Abbotts Falls

This waterfall isn’t a secret, but you probably haven’t heard of it. Plucked straight out of a fairy tale, this waterfall is the reward after a hard trek through dense bushland. After a 5km trek and down a rope into a chasm, you’ll find Abbotts Falls. This place is honestly the waterfall of your dreams and needs to be seen to be believed.

This hidden waterfall is one of the best-kept secrets on the Central Coast and New South Wales.
